Choosing Patio Swings

All of our patio swings last a long time, so choosing the right ones is important. Besides personal taste and style, you should consider how patio swings are used.

Typically, patio swings come in three-foot, four-foot and five-foot lengths. Four-foot patio swings are the most popular, comfortably seating two people. Larger patio swings can accommodate up to two adults and a child; smaller patio swings work best in tight areas, seating a single person or two small adults or two children.

For safety, patio swings need to be hung from solid supports. On a covered patio, swings can be hung from braced roof supports. Patio swings can also be used on an open patio using an A-frame style support.

If you don’t have proper roof support or space for an A-frame, you might consider using an outdoor patio glider or a rocking bench instead of patio swings, The pleasant motion is similar to that found in patio swings.
