Ipe - pronounced ee-pay - is a dark-colored, tight-grained, tropical hardwood, often called Ironwood. Known for its remarkable resistance to decay in humid conditions, your Ipe furniture will last a life time in full sun, snow or rain. Shipped with a light coating of linseed oil, we recommend regular applications of linseed oil to maintain the deep, rich color of the natural wood. Left untreated, over time your Ipe wood furniture will turn to a silky, smooth pewter gray.
