The Carolina Wren is a rich brown color above, buff below with conspicuous white eyebrows.  They reside in the southeastern United States and do not migrate .  At the northern edge of their range they tend to increase in numbers during mild winters and reduce in numbers with heavy snows.

Their habitat includes woodland thickets, ravines and rocky slopes covered with brush.  Nests are placed in stone walls, hollow tree stumps, tin cans, mail boxes, and birdhouses.
