The Adirondack chair is
America's favorite outdoor patio chair. What makes it so is the
unique "Adirondack" design. The rear legs on an
Adirondack chair slope back and the arms are level and wide. When
you sit in an Adirondack chair, you sit deep in the seat, your arms rest
naturally to the side and your feet rest flat on the ground.
Those are the
"common" elements of an Adirondack chair. From there, an
Adirondack chair may feature a flat back, a curved back or a
shellback. All are comfortable; it's really just a matter of taste
and choice. The "original" no-frill's Adirondack chair
featured both a flat back and a flat seat.
An Adirondack chair may have
a "rolled" front. We find this type of Adirondack chair
works best with taller people. Because you sit so far back in an
Adirondack chair, this extra roll can prevent a shorter person's feet
from resting flat on the ground, cutting off circulation at the calves.
An Adirondack chair can also
have a brace to support the back. We often see this design in
lightweight China-made chairs. We do not offer a China-made
Adirondack chair at Shop-NC. An Adirondack chair from Shop-NC is
made in the USA or in Canada, where they go by the name "Muskoka
chairs".
An Adirondack chair may be
the most comfortable chair you ever own and when you buy an Adirondack
chair from Shop-NC it has been made to last a long time. If you
have Adirondack chair questions, give us a call - we've been here since
1998 personally helping thousands of satisfied customers, just like you
we hope.
